Behavior Based Interviewing

By using Traditional Methods of selection interviewing, decisions may prove to be as accurate as flipping a coin. This can be a very expensive gamble. A recent review of over 150 published research studies on interviewing found traditional interviews averaged only 19% predictive accuracy, that’s even less accurate than flipping a coin! What are the costs of inaccurate selection? The cost of turnover and low productivity is a nightmare most managers would rather not calculate. Researched Behavior-based Interviews achieve a hiring accuracy rating of over 80%. In other words, by changing your method of interviewing, you can go from an 80% chance of hiring a poor performer to an 80% chance of hiring a Peak Performer.

Each participant will have an increased capacity for identifying core behavioral competencies in candidates that are necessary for job success. Both the team and individuals will develop the skills and tools necessary to create, support, and sustain new relationships. This will foster cohesion and enhance productivity. The skills learned will help decrease turnover, increase productivity and lower legal liabilities by implementing a structured interviewing process.

Behavior-Based Interviewing is an interactive and experiential workshop for those committed to creating extraordinary results in their interviewing strategies. The bulk of the program time is spent using actual interviewing situations to develop and practice skills. Prior to the workshop, a consultant will gather information from your department to ensure that relevant issues are addressed during the course. Each individual on the team will have a new, increased capacity for identifying core behavioral competencies that are necessary for job success. Participants will be able to create and recreate a consistent interviewing process, which will ensure that only candidates with the highest probability of success will be offered a position.
